I was chatting to a friend of mine about "ratetarting" recently and he said he actully has over £40k of 0% credit cards. He puts all this money into his offset mortgage saving him thousands of pounds each year. I didn't realise how much 0% credit people could get on a credit card. Does anyone know of any similar stories of top RateTarts? I've managed to build up £10k 0% and think I may apply for more as this really is easy money but £40k is really impressive.
and I guess that, by using the offset mortgage approach, your chum can pay off the credit card debt at any time he needs to by switching his debt into his bank/mortgage account at low-ish rates of interest? Cute.
